About John West

John West received his Masters of Music degree with Honors from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. As a regularly featured vocal soloist, some highlights were recording on The Music of Paul Whiteman, singing for Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor Seiji Ozawa, and performing with the Boston Pops Orchestra.

He sang and toured for four years with Bette Midler, performing with her twice on the Grammy Awards and singing on many of her recordings including the number one hit, “From A Distance”. Following that, he worked with Patti LuPone, the original star of Evita. From the Hollywood Bowl to a two-month tour on Broadway, John performed as featured artist and group leader of “The Mermen”, Patti’s support vocal group.

John’s singing career skyrocketed in Los Angeles, when he became an in-demand vocalist for Television and Film Soundtracks. Working as vocal contractor for such blockbusters as Godzilla and South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut and singing in such films as The Lion King, Sixth Sense, Anastasia, Dude Where’s My Car, Jurassic Park III, Spiderman 1 and 2, Van Helsing and most recently The Simpsons, Ice Age III and Night at The Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. TV appearances include “Boston Legal”, “The Academy Awards”, “King of Queens”, “The Practice”, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”, “American Idol”, “The Shield” and many others.

John has established himself in another arena as a concert organist. He is one of the top paid and most highly respected organists in Los Angeles. His performance credits include solo appearances with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pasadena Symphony and the Boston Pops. He has been a featured artist of the American Guild of Organists, the Los Angeles Chapter of the A.G.O., and he has performed at all major houses and on all major instruments in Southern California including Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Spreckles Organ Pavilion, the Hollywood Bowl, the Crystal Cathedral and the Great Organs of the First Congregational Church Los Angeles.

John has worked with stars such as Whitney Houston, Phil Collins, John Williams, Vince Gill, Ricky Martin, Celine Dion and Beyoncé. As a touring artist, John’s performances cover the entire world — from Europe to South America and throughout the United States.
